NORWALK- It was over...quickly. Norwalk junior Andrew Enderle returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and the Truckers needed little else from there, but added plenty, in a 43-8 win over the Galion Tigers Friday night. With the win, Norwalk improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the Northern Ohio League while Galion fell to 1-3, 0-1. Norwalk quarterback Kyle Kurtz found Spencer Krebs for his first receiving touchdown of the season from 32 yards out to close out the first quarter scoring to give the Truckers a commanding 12-0 lead. In the second quarter, however, all doubt was erased with four scoring drives as Norwalk built a 36-0 lead at the break. Trent Ringle scored on a 72-yard run and Kurtz added a 25-yard field goal for a 22-0 lead. Special teams then scored for a third time this season when Ringle blocked a Galion punt and scooped it up for a 29-yard scoring return and Kurtz went back to work in finding Krebs for an explosive 69-yard touchdown. Krebs two receiving touchdowns equal his total from his first two varsity seasons. Dakota Sims got Norwalk's lone score in the second half on a two-yard run in the third quarter. Ringle paced the offense with 155 yards on 13 attempts, giving him 339 yards and four touchdowns on 33 attempts over the last two weeks. Kurtz finished 7-of-10 passing for 176 yards while both touchdowns accumulated the 101 yards receiving for Krebs. Defensively, 22 different players made tackles for the Truckers, led by Krebs with six and Sims and Nate Heckleman with five each. Drew Williams and Jared Torrence each had two sacks while Mason Krebs and Sims each had one. Norwalk will look to rewrite more history next week when it travels to Shelby, a NOL contender who is coming off a 19-8 loss at Tiffin Columbian. The Truckers have lost 15-of-15 meetings at Bill Wilkins Field at W.W. Skiles Field in Shelby, with the lone win since 1970 coming in the 1988 season.
