The Fostoria offense kept the Truckers on their heels all night, as they totaled up over 400 yards of offense in building a 51-0 lead.

FOSTORIA- In front of just 53 fans that made the trip over an hour to Fostoria, the Truckers were handed their seventh loss of the season in convincing fashion as they fell 51-6 to the Redmen Friday night in Northern Ohio League action. With the win, Fostoria improves to 4-4, 3-2. Norwalk dropped to 1-7, 1-4. With Fostoria hosting Upper Sandusky (2-5, 1-4) next week, the Redmen are in good position to secure their first winning season within the league since they joined in 2003.

The win was also the first over Norwalk for the Redmen since joining, as they lost 37-36 in 2003, and fell 28-19 a year ago in Norwalk.

It didn't take long for the Norwalk fans that made to trip to realize it was going to be a long night, as Chase Hampton raced 50 yards on the second play from scrimmage 21 seconds into the game for a 6-0 lead. Marcus Hyde, who has verbally committed to attend Bowling Green next season on a football scholarship, scored another Redmen touchdown just before the quarter ended at the 1:04 mark from two yards out for a 13-0 lead.

Hyde then put the game away in the second quarter, as he first threw a 34 yard touchdown pass to Antonio Crowe at the 10:56 mark, then ran for another touchdown from four yards away just two minutes later. The senior then threw a 47 yard touchdown pass to Anthony Munoz to make the game officially a rout at 31-0 at the halftime intermission.

Hyde then finished his night in the third quarter with a 44 yard touchdown pass to Crowe, and one more touchdown run, from 16 yards out for a 45-0 lead entering the fourth quarter. Hampton then closed the scoring as he intercepted Norwalk quarterback Kyle Kurtz and returned it 25 yards for the 51-0 lead.

Norwalk got their lone score vs. the Fostoria reserve players, as they put together a nice 13-play, 99-yard scoring drive that was capped when Kurtz threw a 13 yard score to fullback Josh Cook on a screen pass. Then perhaps summing up a tough season, the extra point attempt by Kurtz hit the goal post and failed to wrap up the scoring.
