The Truckers were selected 6th in 2005, and in a narrow vote were selected 7th in 2006..

WILLARD- There were surprises all around at the annual Northern Ohio League preseason media poll, from top-to-bottom. Bellevue was selected to win the league, as many of the voters feel the 4-6 record from last season was a mere aberration. The biggest surprise came when Fostoria was picked to finish ahead of Tiffin Columbian by a single point. It is by far the highest preseason ranking for the Redmen in their brief tenure in the NOL, and the lowest Columbian has been picked in years.

Shelby was picked fourth, followed by Willard fifth place. Another mild surprise then involved the Truckers. Despite beating the Rams a year ago and returning 19 starters, the Rams were voted in sixth place with 50 points, and Norwalk was right behind by a single point with 49 points. Galion was the distant pick for last.

There were 18 voters from Bucyrus, Tiffin, Bellevue, Norwalk, Sandusky, Ashland, Fremont, and WLKR radio. Below is the complete poll and results:

                                                           1. Bellevue 136 points (12)
                                                           2. Fostoria 116 points (4)
                                                           3. Tiffin Columbian 115 points (2)
                                                           4. Shelby 78
                                                           5. Willard 69
