Five 2005 Norwalk High school graduates recently completed their
first full season at the college level. Click the link below to

Although there were no first team selections, the Truckers landed
five players on the 2005 All-Northern Ohio League team despite a
2-8 record on the season.

In front of 24,242 fans at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, the longest
running high school rivalry in the country took place in what was
billed as an epic showdown, as for the first time since 1961, both
Massillon and McKinley were unbeaten at 9-0. But that is where the
hype stopped, as the Bulldogs destroyed the Tigers 38-8 to give
McKinley huge momentum and the "favorites" label heading into the
state football playoffs this week.

Former Florida State Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke, who had
not taken an NFL snap in three seasons, entered the game in the
final minutes to replace an injured Jake Delhomme and throw a
short touchdown pass with 32 seconds left to lead his team to a
21-20 win. (touchdown pass pictured at right)

The Baltimore Ravens were flagged for 21 penalties, one short of
the NFL record, including six personal fouls for unsportsmanlike
conduct and two ejections, including one in this picture to the
right. The Lions took advantage of the penalties and cruised to a
35-17 win to take over sole possession of first place in the NFC
North.

The 2005 Norwalk graduate takes a position change with open arms,
and makes a big impact in his first significant action on defense
in the Oilers 34-17 loss at #19 Northwood in Division II action
this past Saturday.

Last Saturday, The Norwalk JV
football team traveled to Galion in a
true test of "Iron man football"(only dressed 11 players) The team
played hard and came away with a 20-15 victory. Starting off the
scoring, Marcus Clark caught a touchdown pass from Adam Koubek.
Koubek followed that with a touchdown run, Dan Greenwell scored on
a 2 point conversion, and Cody Hartman returned a fumble caused by
Clark for a touchdown. Kyle Booth recovered a fumble. Also playing
exceptionally well were Dean Smith, Bart Barnes, Mike Lund, Rusty
Sternberg, Roy Barron, and William Schlett.

The Packers legend quarterback may have played perhaps his final
game in Detroit, and it wasn't one to remember as the Packers were
kept out of the end zone for the first time with Favre as the
starter since a 31-3 loss vs. Tampa Bay in 1992. For pictures of

became available on the market this winter, and the freshman is

Norwalk trailed just 21-14 and had the ball with under seven
minutes left in the game, but the Flashes, led by Trucker killer
Brandon Oney, took control and won going away 34-14 on a night
they were officially eliminated from the Northern Ohio League
title picture.

The Truckers lost to Fostoria for the first time since the Redmen
joined the Northern Ohio League in 2003, as quarterback Marcus
Hyde threw three touchdowns and ran for two more in a blowout 51-6
win.

48-9 loss Friday night in league action, as 1999 Norwalk graduate
Tom Deluca made his successful return to a field he once
dominated.

two big special teams plays early in the contest on their way to

Norwalk in the annual backyard rivalry.

Wynford Saturday morning, falling 21-6 in one full half of play in
their final tune-up before the season opener at Edison next Friday
night.

Monroeville Tuesday. The Truckers live scrimmage in tune-up for

in a poll conducted by local media members Wednesday night in

scrimmages Saturday morning at Whitney Field. Norwalk will play
Monroeville again in a practice scrimmage at Marsh Field in
Monroeville on August 16th at 10am.
